Airline Policies:

>Age:
All of the airlines require that the puppy or kitten be at least 8 weeks old before
shipping.

>
Health Certificate:
The puppy or kitten must have a health certificate from a certified vet, stating that
the puppy or kitten is in good health, free from diseases, and able to travel safely.
Depending on the time of year and the airline, the health certificate must indicate
the safe temperature range for the puppy or kitten. Puppies or kittens cannot be
flown when temps are below 10 degrees F or above 85 degrees F.

>
Kennel or Crate:
The carrying kennel or crate must be large enough so that the puppy or kitten can
stand up and turn around. It must have a water bowl and food bowl attached
securely to the inside of the kennel. It must also have some kind of absorbent
material inside, such as shredded newspaper, wood shavings, or even a towel. On
domestic flights, the kennel must have ventilation on at least two sides. The
kennel/crate must be marked clearly on the outside with the words "Live Animal" in
letters that are at least 1 inch high. For longer duration flights, the time that the
puppy or kitten was last offered food and water must be indicated on the
kennel/crate. The name, address, and phone number of the shipper and receiver
must also be on the kennel.
It is to be understood by the buyer that during times of stress, such as moving to a
new home, being shipped by plane, or meeting new people and animals, cats can
exhibit a variety of symptoms, such as sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose, lack of
appetite, constipation, or diarrhea. This is completely normal and usually of short
duration. To alleviate some of the stress, initially please limit the time the kitten is
exposed to strangers, children, and other animals.
